How To Measure

There are 4 key areas to measure when fitting swimwear. To achieve an accurate measurement we recommend wearing minimal clothing when measuring and holding the measuring tape straight and parallel to the floor.

Bust: Measure the fullest area of your bust and straight around your back, while standing with your arms down.

Waist: Measure the smallest section of your waist.

Hips: Putting your feet together, measure the fullest part of your hips.

Torso: Run a tape measure full circle from a point on the shoulder midway between the neck and the shoulder, over the fullest part of the bust, down between your legs and back up to the starting point. Hint: start with the tape measure going over the back and up through the crotch for easier measuring.

Expert Tips

Swimwear fits differently than clothing, select your size using your bra and pant measurements.

Lycra swimwear should be snug as swimwear will relax out up to a full size once worn in the water and will stay stretched. 100% Polyester swimwear does not relax out with wear so choose a comfortable fit.

Solid Polyester Aqua Tank One Piece Swimsuit - Swimco

I called Swimco at the Park Royal Mall in Vancouver because I was unable to find a 100% Polyester or Nylon swimsuit in the town of Nelson where I live. The woman who answered the phone recommended Swimco based out of Calgary. Wow! 100% Polyester AND 100% Canadian! She helped me find suits on the Swimco website which she thought would work and suggested the best size to order, based on my height and weight. I placed the order online and it arrived in my mailbox 6 days later. It fits perfectly and I love it! It’s kind of a ‘little old lady’ style with a high back and long legs, but I am 75 - so not trying to attract anybody at the beach! Great service. Great fit. And it should last another 35 years of swimming in a chlorinated pool (ie no spandex). Love this company!

Only wore it twice but if it holds up (and is still holding up BTW) as well as my Tyr after over 3 years/3 times a week in a community pool then I would say you have a winner without a doubt. I'd like to see more availability in a
long torse style.

Hope you stay Canadian. Moving to the US was disappointing because TYR was a great product. Thanks for picking up the torch for 70 plus crowd.
