A changeroom story from Lori, Owner.
“We were doing an inventory count at Southcentre several years ago, which meant we would arrive at the store around close and prepare to work for a few hours scanning and counting the inventory in the store. I arrived at the store 15 minutes before close. Staff were busy arranging things for the count and Patti, a long time Swimco employee and personal friend, had a customer in the changeroom. As an owner, I enjoyed listening to the banter between her and her customer. They were so congenial, I assumed it was a long-term customer or a friend. The banter was upbeat and friendly as Patti helped her customer decide among several swimsuits that would be suitable for her upcoming vacation. Patti seemed to know so much about the customer, she had to be a friend. She helped her find a cover up and some beachwear as well as some shorts and shirts for husband.
It was after close when Patti met her customer at the till to arrange payment. We had closed the doors as we readied for the inventory count, it was after 9:00 pm, mall was closing.
Patti’s customer looked in her purse and realized that she didn’t have her wallet. Her husband had it. At that moment, there is a knock on the door and her husband had returned. As he walks in Patti proceeds to reprimand him for not being there for his wife, holding her up at the till. Everyone had a bit of a laugh.
When they left, I asked who her friends were. Patti looked confused and informed me that it was a friendship that started when she walked into the store an hour earlier.”

On June 1st Swimco expanded into Vancouver and opened our newest location in Park Royal Shopping Centre. We want to thank all of our loyal customers who joined us on our Grand Opening and everyday since then. We love being back in B.C. and are looking forward to growing our community.
