Meet Steph (@stephanieang_). This Vancourite is an aspiring interior designer, student and #swimsuitmodel.
Why did you choose this career path?
I love being creative. Pursuing a job in aesthetics where I can channel my creativity has always been a huge goal for me- I know it’s something I will enjoy doing.
How would you describe yourself?
I would describe myself as a hardworking individual. I put my all into everything I do.
What are three words your best friend would use to describe you?
Outgoing, genuine and funny.
How do you hope to connect with and inspire your followers?
I hope to inspire my followers to set goals and go after them. If you want something bad enough, nothing should stop you from it. You only have one life, so do things that make you happy!
We selected you for this campaign because we believe your life is aspirational. What do you feel makes your life aspirational?
I definitively have a positive outlook on life. I always remind myself to be grateful for the blessings in my life, and not to focus on the bad when it comes my way. If you drive your life with positivity and optimism then that energy will affect those around you and every aspect of your life.
Why did you decided to participate in this campaign?
I truly believe that everyone deserves to be confident in their own skin. I am so grateful to be part of the amazing message of this #swimsuitmodel campaign. I’m a strong believer of self-love and body positivity.
What does being a #swimsuitmodel mean to you?
Being a #swimsuitmodel is about being confident in your own skin. Anyone that puts on a swimsuit can be a #swimsuitmodel!
What makes a body beautiful?
What makes a body beautiful is that it is yours. Each and every body is unique in its own way, and that’s what makes it beautiful.
Can you describe your self-confidence journey?
There was a time when I wasn’t the most confident in my body, but what I’ve learned is: if you are unhappy with anything in your life, you are in control of making a change. I made the decision to eat healthier and keep my body active, this changed my life inside and out. I feel better, and my energy levels are through the roof! Most importantly, I learned to love my body at every stage. Taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your body.
If you could say one thing to someone who may not be confident with their body, what would it be?
Stop comparing yourself. It’s so easy to compare yourself to those around you, I’m even guilty of doing this sometimes. It’s super important to realize that there are so many of us in this world, and in reality there really is only one you. Learn to love yourself and embrace your strengths. Talk kindly to yourself, and be kind to others. Realize that all you really need is what is inside of you, and not just your outward appearance. Nothing is more beautiful than a kind heart.
