MEET OUR #SWIMSUITMODEL: MARISSA FORGIE

Meet Marissa (@marissaforgie)

Mother | Silly | Nice

How would your best friend describe you?

My friends would probably describe me as loyal and caring. I feel that they would also say I’m a good listener and always help them when I can.

What are your three favourite emojis?

What do you love most about connecting and inspiring your followers?

I love the motherhood community online. I’ve connected with people I haven’t seen in YEARS over motherhood and met some new friends too. Motherhood can be isolating with young children but connecting and sharing with my friends online makes me realize that a lot of the craziness of this time in my life is normal and helps me embrace it.

What do you feel makes your life aspirational?

I have so many goals that I am excited about. Currently I’m working towards my next belt in Tae-Kwon-Do. I feel so lucky to be able to stay home to raise my kids and to have a supportive husband. The switch from my life being about my career to family was a big change but nothing has felt more right.

Favourite swimsuit style?

I love fun one pieces with side cut outs and slightly cheeky. I have *beautiful* stretch marks from pregnancy so I need to be able to comfortably run around with my kids. I’m in my early 30’s and I don’t want to settle for something too plain… life is too short for that!!

What does being a #swimsuitmodel mean to you? Why did you decide to be part of this campaign?

When I saw “we are looking for real women like you” I felt inspired and I felt like maybe I could inspire someone else, perhaps my daughter one day. I’m real- I’m not a traditional model. I fuel my body well and am very active and I look the way I do – and I’m proud of that. Maybe I can inspire one other mom out there living the crazy motherhood life to realize she’s beautiful and to embrace her body after pregnancy.

What makes a body beautiful?

To me, self-care makes a body beautiful. Focusing on being strong, focusing on what your body can do and fueling your body with foods that make you feel great and, in turn, make you feel beautiful.

What makes you happy in one word?

Harry (our family rescue dog).

What makes you feel confident?

I feel most confident when my hair is down and blow dried with lots of volume. I also feel confident after pushing myself at the gym. Unfortunately those two things are never at the same time!

If you could say one thing to someone who needs a confidence boost, what would it be?

Believe in yourself because you are your own worst critic. You know you’ve got this!
