Meet Sandra, one of our Swimco family members! She’s a Financial Analyst by day, and dog mom by night to her pup Iggy. She inspires us everyday with her confidence and love of travel.
“I’ve never let my disability stop me from enjoying life. I was born in China and was diagnosed with polio at the age of two. My family immigrated to Calgary when I was eight and I went on to study General Accounting and find my love for travel. I aim to go on three girls’ trips per year!”
What is your favourite swimsuit and why?
I love the Penbrooke Secret Garden Underwire Crossover Tankini. I feel so good in it and it gives me the right support for my shape.
Where has this swimsuit taken you?
I wore it on my last girl’s trip to Palm Springs with my sister and cousins!
What is one part of your body that you love?
I love my eyes.
What are you most proud of in your life?
I checked off everything on my bucket list before my 40th birthday!
What makes you feel confident?
Putting on a cute outfit- I love to play around with my wardrobe.
Who is the one woman you look up to and why?
My mom, because of the way she deals with everything in life. She is well-respected at work, is well-liked by everyone, is kind, generous, thoughtful and always seems to be on top of things. Even in hard times, she copes very well. She taught me how to stand up for myself and she played a huge role in helping me become the person I am.
If there was something you could tell your 13-year-old self, what would it be?
Embrace what makes you, you. Stop comparing yourself to everyone else. Get out of your comfort zone.

Taking good care of myself.
What is your favourite virtue of a woman in one word?
Strength.
Who is the greatest love of your life?
Iggy, my furry friend.
What is your motto in life?
Love people for who they are.
What do you do when you find some “me time”?
I love to crank up the stereo system and sing along or take a walk in nature.
What do you appreciate the most about your girlfriends?
Our conversations. I love that we can share real, deep things with each other without judgement.
What do you find most rewarding?
It feels really good to give advice to a friend and know it really helped them.

I like to try new things and challenge myself. I never thought I’d be a model for Swimco!
