Feel Good Profile: Brandy Faris

Meet Brandy of @cashmereandcamo

Get to know local Alberta country queen, and past Swimco #swimsuitmodel, Brandy! She’s passionate about spreading positivity and travels often, so she totally inspires us.

“I’m a serial entrepreneur at heart, after starting my first business in my 20’s, I have a passion to support fellow female entrepreneurs and local companies. I’m a survivor of failed business ventures, heartbreaks, a cancer scare, but ultimately an eternal optimist at heart. I have a love for country lifestyle and nature and have shown the culmination of my story over the last 9 years in my lifestyle blog Cashmere & Camo (@cashmereandcamo on Instagram!). My mission through my social media is to spread positivity throughout my community and hope it inspires people to never stop dreaming and growing.”

What is your favourite swimsuit and why?

My little red one-piece Bleu Rod Beattie from Swimco! It’s bold and covers all the right places and still shows off my curves making me feel confident and a little flirty at the same time.

My legs, they are strong, muscular and love to dance!

What makes you feel confident?

I love being active, love anything with an adrenaline rush, the fit and style compliments my body type and love, love a bold colour.

What are you most proud of in your life?

How I’ve handled myself in the face of adversity. My resilience muscle has built up over time, but I now feel like a strong, confident woman in my convictions and that has taken effort to get to that place.

If there was something you could tell your 13-year-old self, what would it be?

Never let anyone dim your light. Don’t live small to feel accepted. Follow whatever what makes you feel excited and always let that be a guiding light when you have to make decisions in life.

Feeling, healthy and strong and having the ability to complete meaningful work.

To love unconditionally is one of the bravest things you can ever do.

Dream without Fear, Love without Limits

What do you appreciate the most about your girlfriends?

Their honesty and intelligence, we have deep meaningful conversations about a variety of topics and issues.

Truth Hurts – Lizzo

What is a good way to spread kindness?

Sending a random smile or giving a compliment, you never know how much it can brighten someone’s day.

Tell us about the last adventure you took.

I was just in Australia visiting family over Christmas! We vacationed in New South Wales and took in beautiful little beach towns for some surf and sand as well as spending time in the city in some of the urban venues. Overall it was a fantastic time and just love the warmth and beauty of the Aussie culture.

What makes you a badass?

I’m not scared to take on new challenges or challenge myself to continue to grow even if there is a giant risk of failure. I think as we get older, this gets harder for us.

What does self-care mean to you?

Self-care to me is taking the time to recognize what makes you feel at your best. Is it rest, a therapy session, high impact exercise, a bath and a glass of wine or creating a vision board to be more specific? It’s about recognizing what’s going to help you be the best version of you.
